fiducial markers do they show up in TSA scans
Probably a stupid question, I had my fiducial markers inserted yesterday and am wondering whether they show up on TSA scans??

They are too small to really be of concern. Having joints replaced is a completely different Thing.

1 ReactionThanks, that answers my question! Wasn’t sure how large they were!
@dawalrus
My husband will have them inserted soon - were you sedated for that ? Any pain during or after ?
Thanks so much in advance for any input or advice .
@surftohealth88
I had the fiduciaries and a Barrigel spacer placed under general anesthesia. Piece of cake.

3 Reactions@surftohealth88 I had the markers and spacer done yesterday afternoon under general anesthesia. Very slight pain yesterday and barely noticeable today. Didn’t even need to take Tylenol. Start radiation next month.

Thank you both so much for fast reply and all the details. <3
How long you need to wait after insertion for radiation therapy to start ? Is there any need to wait at all or RT can start soon ?
They actually want you to start as soon as possible after the markers and spacer have been completed. I have a vacation planned for next week so my "simulation" (which needed the marker and spacer to be completed first) isn't until June 29th. They told me it would take 7 - 10 days to develop the treatment parameters. So I will probably start immediately after that.
dawalrus, actually an interesting question. Not if they are gold otherwise, they might trigger a pat down.
Mine did not show up for TSA.
I was put under general anesthesia as well but they also put spaceoar in at the same time. It was done a week before my procedure.
