Feels like I’m sitting on a ball and Fecal Incontinence!

Posted by barbgreen0959 @barbgreen0959, Jun 9 9:06pm

I have been dealing with this issue for about 3 to 4 years. It started with a feeling of a lot of pressure in my anal area, which has now moved to my vaginal area. My colonoscopy results were normal , however I did have 4 polyps, which were benign. I am still dealing with the pressure, which has gotten considerably worse! It is constant now and travels from my anal area to my vaginal area. Some mornings I wake up with feces in my underwear so I start wearing a pad every night. I now sleep in depends because I never know when it will happen. I am also dealing with bladder incontinence. I saw a Urogynecologist who suggested I try pelvic floor therapy. Needless to say it didn’t work. I saw this doctor because I thought my bladder had dropped. She said everything was fine so she referred me for therapy. My stomach is so bloated and I have lost weight over the past 4 to 5 years. My normal weight is around 145 to 150 lbs. I now weigh from 110 to 115 lbs. I look like a skeleton, to myself. I don’t know where else to turn. I am so tired of this pressure that I am at my wits end! I am either constipated or I’m experiencing diarrhea. I try to eat more so that I can gain weight, but it’s like my weight is at a standstill. Have anyone else experienced any of these symptoms? Or could someone suggest another specialist I should try? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have dyssynergia and tortuous colon. I cannot expel but they say it can work up to your situation. I am sorry. The Dr. said "at least you don't have cancer". Which is true but this is dibatating. Have you had biofeedback therapy?

Hi @jane8123
Thanks for your response to my post. To answer your question, I have not had biofeedback therapy. What does it consist of and did it work for you? The only thing I’ve tried so far is Pelvic Floor Therapy, which didn’t work for me. If another doctor mention that to me I am going to scream!! lol…I am still trying to get an appointment with a GI or Colorectal Surgery Specialist. I have to get a referral from my PCP first. I would like to see the GI doctor who performed my Colonoscopy since he already has a chart on me. Hopefully I will get a diagnosis soon! Please keep your fingers crossed 🤞🏽 Have a great evening @jane8123!

No, not Pelvic Floor Therapy! I’ve tried it and it didn’t work! I was referred twice, however I told the second Urogynecologist that I saw that I had tried it and it didn’t work for me, so I quit; she referred me again. What are they not understanding?? I’m not going back!! I don’t feel that my issue has anything to do with my pelvis. I think it’s more of a Colorectal issue. IJS, but I could be mistaken.

I am going today for my first visit. My understanding is they teach you exercises (the same pelvic floor exercises but have a sensor. They can see where you are relaxing etc. Have they checked your sacral nerves? That is the next step for me. I will say a prayer for you as I know you take the activities of daily living for granted. The struggles we women go through. I am scared.

Good morning @jane8123!!
I hope you had a good night. I can’t tell you not to be scared because so am I! So we will pray for each other. 🙏🏽🙏🏽😊 They didn’t use a sensor with mine, but maybe they should’ve. They didn’t check the sacral nerves either. I feel slighted hearing all the things that you had or will have! I agree that we do take the activities of daily living for granted, among other things. My loss of weight is what’s really scaring me! On my mother’s side of the family there is a lot of cancer, mainly breast and ovarian. So you see that’s what I’m worried about. I try to put it out of my head, but it’s kind of difficult not to think about it! Well I better go and get my day started. It is great to share my thoughts and experiences with you and others. Have a wonderful day Jane!! 😊 Continue to pray! 🙏🏽

I do not know what State you are in. (you don't need to tell me on platform, understand security issues. We moved to Fl. I found a great gastro Dr. Are you able to see a dr? They can run test to rule out all that. I am 60, not sure how old you are. We lose a lot of muscle mass as we age. Prayers for you.

Hi @jane8123
I live in Tx, and I am 66 years of age, will be 67 in September. I am trying to get in contact with the doctor that performed my Colonoscopy. He was very nice and personable, and had a great bedside manner. I have definitely lost most of my muscle mass. Most of my clothes are too big. I was reading up on how to increase your muscle mass and found that creatinine helps. I found some creatinine gummies, but haven’t taken any yet. I was going to ask a doctor if I should take them.

@barbgreen0959 - that makes a lot of sense to ask your doctor what they think about the gummies.

@jane8123 your doctor sounds very insensitive! No one should say “at least you don’t have —“to anyone! 😖
