You had myectomy and still dealing with HOCM? Isn't that really rare? I just had septal myectomy 9 weeks ago, dealing with regulating BP and PVCs.

@cash298 Hello cash298. Those of us who have HCM/HOCM will always have it. Except in rare cases, it's genetic, in your DNA, and gene therapy will be needed to change your DNA. That's in the experimental research stages. Myectomies relieve the thickening that impedes blood flow which causes the symptoms associated with HCM/HOCM. Congratulations on your septal myectomy 9 weeks ago! Do you feel that your original symptoms have been helped? Remember that your lucky heart has undergone quite a bit of trauma and is still healing. There can be complications - I had blood clots, was on Eliquis for 5 months. I also had PVCs/arrythmias which caused dizziness and giddiness as well as 2 syncope. I acquired Buddy, my ICD when we finally figured all of this out and life is active and busy. You may like to read about your PVCs so you can formulate more questions for your doctor. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/premature-ventricular-contractions/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20376762.
