took Journavx 50 mg 2x day last week and results were very fast acting and amazing.
I'd had a cortisone shot in my toe 11 days before starting the Journavx and noted no improvement from that during that time...but with the new med started 12 days after the cortisone relief was close to immediate. Praise God. I had been unable to walk more than 50yards at a time without chronic pain from a very bad joint in my foot. Arthritis. No side effects from the new med. But sticker shock at the cost!
Pain free walking? Worth every penny. Will check with our insurance, Medicare A&B, our secondary Medicare supplement and our Wellcare Value Script Prescription Drug Plan about getting more coverage for the medication's long term pain relief. Will ask my Dr. if half the prescribed dose might be as effective. Good RX says all pharmacies are charging $143 for (10) 50mg pills - (with insurance)

@paulrohe that’s great! I’m hearing of more patients getting prescriptions for chronic pain. I have been taking 50 mg twice a day for about 8 months. Yes, I paid over $900 several months. Then I paid just over $200 several times (I didn’t ask any questions!). Then somehow my doctors office got an authorization for Medicare to cover it. Since I hit the $2000 prescription cap, I’ve been paying $0! Not sure what will happen in January. I also haven’t tried to go without it. I still have neuropathy pain, it’s just a different intensity. Someday larger doses will be approved. My doctor, and apparently others, are getting on board with prescribing this for chronic pain.
