1 ReactionAnd the women tear their blouses off and the men they dance on the polka dots and it's hell to pay when the music stops.
IT'S CLOSING TIME
Moon river, wider than a mile
I’m crossing you in style, someday
Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains. I am strong when I am on your shoulders.
You raise me up to more than I can be.

2 ReactionsYou da Hero
A long one but worth it to me - from Hello Dolly in 1969 - about a young man’s hope in the future. Still uplifting despite my 75 years - I can remember feeling like that.
Cornelius:
Out there
Theres a world outside of Yonkers
Way out there beyond this hick town
Barnaby [his buddy]
There's a slick town
Barnaby
Out there
Full of shine and full of sparkle
Close your eyes and see it glisten
Barnaby
Listen, Barnaby...
Put on your Sunday clothes
There's lots of world out there
Get out the brilliantine and dime cigars
We're gonna find adventure in the evening air
Girls in white in a perfumed night [white meaning they were unmarried]
Where the lights are bright as the stars [before electric lights]
Put on your Sunday clothes we're gonna ride through town
In one of those new horsedrawn open cars
Cornelius & Barnaby
We'll see the shows at Delmonicos
And we'll close the town in a whirl
And we won't come home until we've kissed a girl
@pinkhydrangea
my papa would play that classic redundantly
Song Song Blue Everybody Knows One
@dhabeger
Worked in Yonkers 20 years. Not too bad, but don't recommend it.
