@jakofin I had radiation therapy for endometrial cancer. I have not had chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Since my diagnosis (actually recurrence) 5 years ago I've been working with an integrative medicine physician. As we discussed my diet she did not mention take probiotic supplements. She tends away from supplements and wants me to get my nutrients from food sources.

I'm seeing my integrative medicine physician today and I will ask your question.

One suggestion is yogurt. I eat yogurt most every day and did so during radiation therapy. I had just two bouts of diarrhea during the 25 sessions.

I'm tagging @denisestlouie as I believe she saw a functional medicine physician.

Have you asked your oncologist this question? Is there an integrative medicine or functional medicine physician you can consult?

@naturegirl5 my functional doctor identified candida fungus as an issue and I went through a candida treatment protocol. That included a medication to kill the yeast yeast infection. He did supply me with a probiotic. My Gastroenterologist recommended a probiotic for a month if I where prescribed an antibiotic. If you use a probiotic make sure it's really one. Probiotics are supplements and not regulated. Align probiotic was recommended by the GI. The functional doctor provided a product that needed refrigeration and I don't know the name.
I didn't take a probiotic during chemotherapy. I did take many other supplements that were recommended just for me by my functional doctor. I would encourage anyone with a major health issue to also see a functional doctor. The treatment protocol will be specific to you. Your issues are unique and what worked for me probably won't resolve anyone else's issues
