@kjoed53 , a few years ago it was a popular practice to pay the charge for the car behind you in line at Starbucks.

I’ve had mine paid for several times and I have covered others as well. The theory was that as you were notified your coffee had been paid by the car ahead, then you say, let me pay for the one behind me, and so on…..
