Not unlikely since the disease enters the bursas in the shoulders and hips, eventually. PMR primarily targets the muscle-tendon junctures of the shoulders and hips but secondarily enters the bursas in these areas and even bursas in the back. I, actually, first noticed PMR in my bursas. My shoulders were so sore that I could not lift my arms onto the car steering wheel.
