@joannehart Hello! I changed it, because gabapetin made breathingdifficulties. Lyrica helped, but it has a lot of side effects to me (I am sleepy, remain in my thoughts, not so effective etc.)

Hi Angela! I cope with my chronic leg pain with a pain med, Oxycodone 5mg 4 times a day and Tizanidine, a muscle relaxer for spasms. I hope to find other ways besides medicine to cope with the pain. I'm going to see a new pain specialist and this group offers several ways besides meds to cope with the pain so I'm looking forward to this!

1 ReactionHi I’m Jackie from a small community in Southwestern Ontario (Canada). I developed chronic pain in 2012 following pelvic surgery and mesh complications. More recently I have been diagnosed with peripheral and small fiber neuropathy, POTS, and TOS. I’ve been an eager learner about the neuroscience of pain, and a patient advocate and “person with lived experience” within several healthcare settings. Looking forward to learning more from this grouo
My name is Patti, I have CFS and Fibromyalgia, and arthritis in my hands and feet. I have chronic pain every day along with fatigue. I had to change my dose of Gabapentin and Nortriptyline because they were making me have muscle spasms and falling asleep during the day. Fortunately changing the dose helped, I have also taken Tramadol for the last 5 years, it does help dull the pain so that I can function. I am 76 years old.
This is just an FYI for all you chronic pain sufferers. I just received my order of THC from Charlotte's Web. I just took one gummy for "Recover. 12.5 mg CBD, 12.5 MG CBG, 12.5 mg CBC, and 2.5 mg THC. I will try to keep everyone posted as to how it effects me. I am 78 with severe chronic pain. Pain pump with dilaudid and a myriad of drugs do very little to help my pain.

My next door neighbor was a orthopedic surgeon in Lincoln NE; he requested for me to get an MRI (he wasn't my doctor but he was always curious of why I limped on my left side of my body); he ordered and MRI for me & we found a large tumor at the top of my spinal cord (inside) C6/C7; he told me that I need to go to one of the best spinal cord tumor hospitals (went to MD Anderson in Houston). My doctor was Robert Grossman & he told me it wasn't an emergency but he told my wife and I that my spinal cord could collapse if I didn't have the operation and become parapolygic. I was pretty lucky as my next door neighbor wasn't part of my medical network & he pushed for the MRI. At the time, I was complaining of lower back pain which had nothing to do with my ependymoma. Sometimes we get really lucky (early detection is extremely helpful)

Let's face it ... most doctors have experience with spinal cord tumors; I was told at one time ... our tumors were 0.005% of total (really small).
