Had ReY GBP at VA hospital 16 days ago. Need to lose 90-106 lbs. So far no issues and the team is happy with my progress. The 2-week liver shrinkage diet was much easier than anticipated. Post surgery, I'm never hungry, even after sitting through a few "Max the Meat Guy" YouTube videos with my grandkids this weekend. Phase 2 beginning solid foods started yesterday, and the scrambled egg, greek yogurt, and tuna for B, L, and D were delicious, but I needed to stop at 2T. I guess the only issue so far is the sudden realization that everything eating wise is changed forever. I knew it before, but once it's on you, it's a wake up. Gas supposedly is forever, so hello Beano for life!

Welcome to Mayo Connect. Glad things are going well so far. And you're right, to be sucessful you eating patterns will be different from now on. But just remind yourself of the benefits.

I only have problems with gas if I eat the wrong type of food, but everyone is different.

As you lose weight, what are you looking forward to doing?
