Constant upper abdominal pain

Posted by tj @tjanet, Jun 1 4:19pm

I have Short Bowel Syndrome. I am having constant abdominal pain above my belly button and to the left of my abdomen and I also have constant nausea. Doctors don't know how to treat my constant abdominal pain and constant nausea. Abdominal pain doesn't change with what I eat, doesn't change with bowel movements and doesn't change with moving around/walking etc. Resting doesn't change my constant abdominal pain and constant nausea.

@1995victoria @tjanet that thought (checking the spleen) crossed my mind too.

So sorry you are experiencing this…. Have you undergone testing and imaging ? Continuing to try to live with such pain is not only hard, but could be more serious. Sooner is better with these symptoms….wishing you relief !

Still trying to get my doctors to treat my health conditions in a medical way. Doctors have been treating me for symptoms I don't have and they wonder why I am not doing better. My health conditions are continuing to get worse and it seems like my doctors don't care very much about my symptoms/health conditions. Doctors don't understand about my high pain tolerance level.

My GI doctor still doesn't know how to treat my constant abdominal pain. My constant abdominal pain is at a pain level of 6 with my high pain tolerance. Sleeping 3-4 hours a night because of constant abdominal pain. Food, resting, bowel movements and positions doesn't change my pain level.

I also have abdominal pain that won't go away. I have had a combination colonoscopy/endoscopy,
a kidney ultra sound, a gall bladder scan, a blood test for food allergies, a breath test for H-prylori= all found nothing.
Have you tried any of these tests?
Now they want to refer me to a university hospital as their physicians have more GI specialists.
Do you have a med school near you?
I take 100 mg of Trazedone every morning & sometimes in the afternoon so I am also constipated.
What do you take for the pain??
