@trishdub not very long. I've been slowly getting up to 600 mg since I don't want anything to restart the diarrhea I had for 3 months. Good to know what you passed along.
@trishdub so frustrating, hot water helps soothe and soften muscles, cold water calms the nerves. How do we do both?
@slspencer
Yup! I’m fortunate in that the burning is under control except for the occasional break through, caused by what I do not know (there are probably hundreds of possibilities). And it’s only in my feet. I do use heat to relax my calves, though. But I can’t get it near my feet. Bad idea!
Has anyone experienced acid issues with ALA/R ?
@trishdub do you need a prescription or is it available in health food stores?
@dmcatoe
No prescription needed. Just buy a reputable brand.
@botterd
Only take the R-ala is what I have been told. It absorbs better and maybe less side effects?
Waters.
neuropathy is nerve or nerves hurting because their insulation is missing. Their insulation (myelin) is made from cobalamin , that's vitamin B12. It's extracted from food in our stomach acid. Us elders have less acid. Eventually your doctor will inject B12. In the meantime you might try taking the supplement B12 or METHYLCOBALAMIN. Alcohol stops B12 absorbtion by numbing intestine and stomach villi.
