Cognitive side effects are very common in seizure medications. Your side effects may have improved or gone away all together if you had continued taking it a few weeks or sometimes months.

@grannytrucker generally, docs instruct patients how to get off meds very gradually, so as not to shock the body and its systems. Medical guidance is a must !

1 ReactionGood morning, I have chronic constant IBS issues. For two years had constant stabbing pain then all of a sudden I didn’t have the stabbing pain but now I have ebbs and flows of daily uncomfortable sensation. It feels like a drawstring around my abdominal area and increases discomfort after a bowel movement. The sensation usually starts at 3:30 pm on schedule and hangs around for the rest of the day. Yes, I’ve had more than a million dollar work up over the years, just finished that Emsella chair to treat potentially pelvic floor dysfunction even though I’m a 62 year old man and that usually happens to women (the jury is still out on if it worked) follow up appointment with COLORECTAL SURGEON who specializes in IBS. Lastly, pain management put me on JOURNAVX. The constant unpredictable discomfort is annoying and affects my QOL. Anyone have a similar experience?
@virtuous69 ,I also take Norco for bad pain.whats so sad is the people that get them to sell, it hurts the innocent ones who truly need them..I don't like to tell people i take them because of hearing the speech of addiction..I know of people that will take several at a time or sell them, now that's a bad addiction and disgust me when people abuse them! Bad pain is real, everyone handles pain differently,I never abuse mine or take more then i should,I also suffer with bad arthritis all in my back, I'm only 59 but my Dr told me i have the back of a 90 yr old..I also have fibromyalgia, wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! Also have other health issues but can relate to some of your pain.God Bless....

Yes, I have noticed memory loss with Gabapentin too. Pain got so bad without it so now I take one 300 mg early morning and one 300mg near bedtime. Does give me some relief but not near enough so I take 500mg Tylenol throughout the day. Still have pain but it helps some. I am open to any suggestions.

3 ReactionsHi everyone,
I’m new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. Living with chronic pain and disabilities can feel incredibly isolating, and I’m joining because I want to connect with people who truly understand the daily journey, make some friends, and offer support to others however I can, and also receive advice on what works for you.
My journey started about four years ago after a severe fall. I stepped out of a slipper, fell, and badly shattered my right leg. It required two massive, 5-hour surgeries. The first surgery had major complications, including misplaced hardware and bone fragments, which required a specialist to do a second reconstructive surgery a 3 months later to fix it properly.
About six months into recovery, my right foot and leg turned red and purple, swelled up, looked shiny, and the pain became absolutely incredible. That is when I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Since then, it has unfortunately spread up my whole right leg, into my hip, and my back.
To add to the challenge, I also have:
Blood Clot Disorders: I have 5 blood clot disorders and have survived 3 blood clots (one of which traveled to my lungs). Because of this, my doctors strictly forbid any surgical therapies, nerve blocks, or procedures that carry a clot risk. I am also highly allergic/reactive to blood-thinning medications and many other drugs.
Left Leg & Back Issues: My left leg has neuropathy from the past clots and old damage from a car wreck. Because I’ve had to put all my weight on my left leg to help with my CRPS leg for the last four years, my left side is now severely strained.
Because of my strict medical limitations, the only treatments I’ve been able to safely use are specialized CRPS physical therapy and limited medications. I still rely on a walker to get around.
Because so many standard CRPS therapies are off the table for me, I am really hoping to connect with others who have similar limitations. I want to find out if there are any gentle, non-invasive, or alternative things you have tried that I haven't heard of yet.
I’m looking forward to getting to know you all, sharing our journeys, and being a supportive friend in this community.
Thank you for welcoming me!

So sorry you've been suffering with so much for a long time. This is a good place for you. Have you tried cbd products? Seems many can tolerate these products over Px meds.
I'm sure others here will offer up some tips & really hope new input can help you. Hang in there. All the best.
