If you are diabetic with CKD then having a high carbohydrate breakfast will spike your blood sugar. (Oatmeal, cereal, bread) Research has shown that eating dinner for breakfast ie vegetables, meat(if you eat it), eggs, salad, actually levels your blood sugar during the day and you actually feel satisfied and therefore will eat less during the day. I have followed this for two years since I had my kidney removed. I have lost10 pounds, the weight has stayed off and my A1c is now below 6. Blessings.

@dougr19 Ah! Now I gotta wonder about my usual choices of non-breakfast for breakfast! Leftovers on most days. My husband likes to laugh at me as he watches me eat.
