Newbie at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Neurology)
Hello to everyone, brand new patient here. Coming into Rochester on Monday trying to get some answers: left leg weakness about 4 months now along with a huge distended belly and numbness and weakness around middle and back. So far mris only show a bad l5 s1 disc. Local doctors have no idea what’s going on but I’ve gotten much worse in last couple months. Very terrified about coming here; at same time happy to have a chance to be seen here by the best, go figure. Anyway best to all glad to have a place to vent.

Welcome to Mayo Connect and Mayo Clinic. Besides being a mentor on Mayo Connect, I am a Rochester resident, a lifelong Mayo patient, and a volunteer at St. Mary's. I hope you find answers at Mayo.
Downtown Rochester has a tremendous amount of construction underway for future Mayo buildings. This website can provide options for arrival:

Have you set up your Patient Portal? It is the best way to keep up with appointments. In addition, you may need to complete questionnaires. If you fill them out ahead of time, it saves time at the appointment.
