Make sure your surgeon tells you exactly what procedure he is performing. My surgeon never mentioned in our previous conversations about doing a hinged swivel revision until I was sitting in the prep in a hospital gown. It’s a very invasive procedure that I wouldn’t of agreed to had I known before hand. Then after the surgery he ordered aggressive physical therapy. The therapist in the hospital and the one sent to my house never even heard of that type of surgery. They were treating it as a routine TKR.After serious investigation I found out the therapy is completely different for this type of surgery.Make sure you get all the detailed information for the pre operation ,the surgical procedure and the postoperative physical therapy.

@jackmineo What a horror story. There is no way a hinged knee replacement should have been done without a complete discussion with the surgeon. I was having a RTKR and in my pre-surgery sessions Dr. Chow went over with me how the implant works with a sample implant. And that is for a normal (well...not entirely normal as Dr. Chow was giving me the extremely rare bicruciate retaining implant) knee replacement.

Your surgeon appears to be one who should be avoided!
