For me, my main issues with weakness are falling, inability to stand a long time and balance, although my balance may be more from seizure meds or maybe a combination of both.
My primary doctor feels I may have a neuromuscular disease which should be determined at Stanford in October. I disagree. I believe my issues are primarily neuropathy related. However , 60 years of seizures and their meds may well be contributing.
Take care,
Jake

Thank you, Jake. I have had PN for years and years, not knowing what it was until about 2 years ago. It began in one toe; now it is in all toes, the balls of my feet, and now I'm beginning to feel it in my ankles (tingling). The reason I wrote in is that I have been trying for months and months to improve my balance and, while some days are better than others, I just can't balance. My ankles shake like crazy. I even go to the gym and have strong thighs and core (certainly stronger than they've ever been; I'm turning 69 soon). I wondered if the PN might be the reason or at least a contributing factor. And right now, the thought of going down stairs into my basement and then coming back up is not a happy thought. I am otherwise healthy, at least as far as recent blood work indicates.
I pray that you don't have a neuromuscular disease.
