@donnajones
I am also 73 and may be needing to start something after looking at my BMD plummet towards osteoporosis after being fairly sedentary after a complicated knee replacement. I am thinking HRT would be a reasonable place to start. Have you had any side effects such as unwanted facial hair growth or weight gain?

@dorob, I am 75 and have been on an estrogen patch for 9 months. I have definitely gained weight and have never had to worry about weight gain before in my life. I also have ankle swelling and have to wear compression stockings. I feel better in other ways: skin, hair and vagina aren't as dry. My spine BMD is almost normal now and my hip BMD shows osteopenia after 7 fractures.

@dorob, I should have mentioned that I was on a half dose of Tymlos with the estrogen for 6 months. Estrogen appears to be holding in gains for 3 months so far.
