@loribmt so I've been able to get more information here than anywhere else. My case is a little different. I started to ache with chronic fatigue, my Dr did a blood test and a host of things were out of whack. At 27, I did the 23 and me with the health package. Two things that I was a carrier for, chrones disease and hemochromotsis. I showed that ti to my Dr. Since then my hormones are all over the place, I just turned 50, and my liver saturation is at 75%, but my ferritin went down due to getting my menstrual cycle after being put on progesterone and estrogen patch. My RBC count is always low, my glucose is always slightly low, 67-74.
Does hemochromotsis cause the immune system to not be at 100%? I finally got into thee mayo, I have 6 different doctors who don't communicate. Everything taste different and I have a hard time keeping weight on. Have you ever heard of this?
I was perfectly healthy until I hit menopause, and then I found out about the HH. I really struggle with the brain fog and fatigue..

Hi @koref Connect just the greatest forum, isn’t it? There are so many helpful members who share common health issues. We can all learn from each other! I’m happy to see that you’re finding the information helpful.

From my limited understanding of hemochromatosis it can impact the immune system. The excessive iron can lead to oxidative stress and inflammation, which can compromise immune function causing you to be more susceptible to illnesses and infections.

It’s excellent news that you’re going to be seen at Mayo. You’ll find that the doctors specialize in collaborative medicine. They work together seamlessly if you need specialists in more than one department. All medical practices should work that way!
Which Mayo Campus will you be visiting?
