Interesting information. I bite my cheek occasionally, Not a real problem and it’s always a really small spot. Never even heard about this white line issue. I guess that Oral surgeon found another financial opportunity for her business.

Didn’t realize this was a common issue.

@jeffmarc Extremely common! It’s called hyperkeratosis and is widely referred to as ‘pre-cancerous’.
I have personally never seen one change into anything more significant…BUT, if a person is a heavy smoker (especially pipes or cigars, which are puffed) or a heavy drinker, the extra irritation ‘could’ push these areas over the threshold into cancer territory.
Again, never actually saw it happen.
