@sueinmn - Hi Sue. I don't plan to go down a different path than what is indicated in the instruction that came with my handset. I'm using the Altera nebulizer handset along with the Pari altera compressor. Do you think I need to boil with distilled water or can I use tap water? Yes, they say use distilled water. Doesn't boiling kill bacteria or is there another reason for using distilled water? This disease really give you an education. Thanks Sue for your sage wisdom.

@fdixon63 Tap water contains dissolved minerals which can eventually the mesh in the handset. Distilling water, which may or may not be sterile, removes those particles and preserves the mesh.
We reuse our distilled water in the saucepan a few times, keeping it covered between uses to limit the hassle of hauling gallon bottles.
