This is a long shot-but is any one familiar with a understanding compassionate Gastrointestinal Doc at the Cleveland Clinic. I'm suffering with unsolved GI symptoms and need a specialist to put the picture together. Any suggestions welcome.

The last I heard the Mayo clinic does not accept Medicare Advantage plans but will accept supplemental Medicare Part E plans. The Advantage plans tend to require pre-authorization for too many procedures and also to deny coverage on the first go round which wastes the Clinic's time.

Thanks so much for this information and the link.I'll check it out.
@gulfcoastwoman that's actually pretty normal for united health care. It was a huge hassle to find my doctors on their list . however that whole clinic was on the list . united and other advantage plans have issues now . Often difficult to find answers and all representatives seem to have different information.

Can you still apply for original Medicare?

Some time ago I listened to the Angela Davis show about IBS. The GI specialists from Mayo & University of Minnesota were on. They both said they do not have the time to see IBS patients. I have seen 2 GI PA, & they both said IBS is difficult to treat & recommended fiber treatments, which did not help. My question is, why are there so many of us with IBS? Is it today's diet, the environment, etc.? It sounds like it is an epidemic.

Agree. Since I’ve been diagnosed with SIBO I have met many others who have the same condition & we’re all seeking solutions. You’d think there would be more specialists. Very frustrating!
