I was originally taking two 600 mg and told to go down to one 600 mg. My recent bloodwork showed a slight elevation in calcium, so my rheumatologist advised me to stop taking calcium altogether since Tymlos delivers calcium in the injections.

@pattycakes66 I do not think that abaloparatide (brand Tymlos) delivers calcium according to how I interpret the FDA and The American College of Rheumatologists. It is a impossible to get a list of what something does not contain, but AI also supports the no-calcium interpretation.

Both of the references say that most people need to be sure that their calcium intake is adequate with special cautions for people with hypercalciuria.

FDA:
https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2026/208743s017lbl.pdf
EXCERPT: "TYMLOS may cause hypercalciuria. If hypercalciuria is suspected, measurement of urinary calcium excretion should be considered"

From the The American College of Rheumatologists:
https://rheumatology.org/patients/abaloparatide-tymlos
EXCERPT: "To get the most benefit from use of abaloparatide, be sure to consume calcium-rich foods and/or take a calcium supplement. Total calcium intake from food and supplements should be at least 1200 mg per day."
