Has anyone tried red light therapy

Like most of us, I’ve tried various treatments to no avail. Has anyone tried red light therapy? My symptoms involve numbness from the knees down and some weakness in my hands.

YES. I bought a Glove for Red Light Therapy. Every Day each Hand for 30 days ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE.

I’m sorry to hear it but not surprised. Of all the proposed “treatments”, this is the most expensive. I appreciate your honesty!

@3740 Thank you. I wanted to buy some gloves because my hands are so bad along with the rest of my body of course but now I will pass on that. Frustration is setting in. I have dealt with this illness for six years and it continues to worsen! I know so many others feel this way too. I can’t help myself get better but neither can the doctors. All they want to do is load us up with pills that just cause other side effects like high blood pressure, hoarseness and the list goes on! We are all supposed to put that smile on our face, thank everyone for caring and keep on trucking. I’m tired of “trucking”!

@tessie63Hi.. I got talked into a $3K pair of red light therapy pads...for my feet, legs and hands.
I used it faithfully for months and saw no discernible change at all.

From the research I've done, red light (infra red) therapy needs to be done in conjunction with other therapies. Electric stimulation, nutritional supplements, etc.

Yes, no effect that I could feel. I only did a session once a week, for 15 weeks, so likely not frequently enough. But there it is.

@johnjp thanks! I’m investigating the MLS 7 cold laser, I’ll let everyone know what I find.

Hi @drdavevet ,
I have had successful treatment with cold laser therapy and I have written about on the forum several times. I went to a practioner 2xweek for 8 weeks. I have changed my diet, take supplements , massage feet every night, exercise and use shockwave therapy for flare ups. I had an allergy storm, it came back started over and I am still okay 4 years later. Everything works together.
Regards,
JFN

Haven't been doing the exercises that helped get me back to walking after my back surgery since they increase my discomfort. The neuropathy in my feet and legs started about 5 months after surgery. I mentioned that I've been going to acupuncture which, if anything, has made the neuropathy worse. I'm going to go back to Physical Therapy so I can learn some gentle exercises that won't be painful. Before acupuncture I could walk for 20 minutes or so. Hoping that the Physical Therapy will help me to be able to use walking as an exercise again. Thinking of stopping the acupuncture since it's been about 2 months and it hasn't helped at all. I mentioned starting Alpha-Lipoic Acid to my doctor and she said it's not likely that it will help neuropathy.
