Sneakers/shoes/sandals post knee replacement

Posted by sandy19 @sandy19, Apr 22 9:00pm

I am 10 weeks post left knee replacement. Any recommendations on sneakers/shoes/sandals to wear. Been wearing sketchers slip-ins post surgery. Prior to surgery was wearing Altra and TEVA platform sandals. Thanks.

I have had TKR on both knees. I have found Drew, Dr. Comfort, Propet, Aravon, Earth and Earth Origins great shoes with great arch support and right sizing. I used to wear 5.5 W or WW. Now it could be 6.5 W or WW to 7 Wide to WW. Another important thing is orthotics that can be placed in your shoes, most of the better brands have lnsoles that are removalable. Get a script from your doctor and send it to Arch Crafters, they are less than $200.00. It makes a big difference in your gait, and supports not only your feet, but your ankles and back. The custom insoles are made from the impressions of your feet. A box is mailed to you and you put one foot in each side and a correct impression is made. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. After trying a lot of shoes, I have settled for Brooks Addiction Walker 2. If you buy directly from Brooks website they have a 90 day trial policy.
