I've read so many posts about this, but none were recent. Anyone who is experiencing this have any advice. Surgery for me is pretty high risk due to lung issues.

They could give you sedation or saddle block. You don't necessarily have to get anesthesia where you are intubated. Ask!

A colorectal dr recommended surgery for my rectal prolapse, however I chose not to do it unless it is absolutely necessary. Mine happens almost every time I have bm. If the bm is a large amt of stool it comes out ALOT ; sometimes if bm is not too much the rectum comes out a bit less. I try to relax, not tense up and slowly push it back in while using toilet paper or wet wipes. I have IBS-C and a torturous colon….been dealing with constipation my whole life.
Feel free to ask me questions if you want to. Glad to help you if I can.

Have you tried back passage irrigation? I have a linear prolapse and was sent to a colorectal surgeon by my gastroenterologist. The surgeon advised this irrigation. It is a coloplast system and works very well, preventing a lot of pushing etc.which can make the prolapse worse.

I wonder would pelvic floor exercises be any good.I was put in touch with a pelvic floor phisio.
