@dasiy -2.5 is the lowest DEXA score that shows osteoporosis. How old are you? That would be a factor since I've heard once you start Prolia, you probably need to stay on it for life. Depending on your age, I would investigate other drugs first over Prolia due to the high fracture risk if you ever want or need to stop taking it.

Remember that bones change very slowly so give yourself time to investigate the drugs available, their success rate and side effects, and what drug may be needed afterwards to retain your gains on the med you take.

Research a drug's "absolute risk" not the "relative risk" of fracture prevention. For example, "According to the review conducted by the ACP (American College of Physicians), the relative risk reduction of hip fractures with bisphosphonate treatment for at least 3 years is 36%; however, the absolute risk reduction is only 0.6%. Framed as number needed to treat, 167 patients need to be treated for 3 years to prevent one hip fracture."
