Has anyone found a treatment that helps with peripheral neuropathy?

Posted by bigjohnscho @bigjohnscho, Jul 1, 2025

I suspect that everyone on this forum has been searching for a medication that helps their neuropathy and even though you no that all the internet claims are false we continue to waste hundreds of pounds. Desperation is a powerful force. Has any one been fortunate enough to find a genuine treatment. I just can’t believe that there are so many awful people who prey on our vulnerability and knowingly orchestrate such elaborate scams.

Has anyone tried one compression socks made from bamboo? We have spoken with some residents where we live who swear by them providing relief. They aren't inexpensive but you can test them for 60 days to see if they help. I have ordered some of these and will respond to this forum about the results.

I have just tried magnesium cream called Neurese and I woke up with the soles of my feet burning. Did you experience anything similar

@19281928 very true about the shoes. Even though my treatments work, there is only 1 pair of shoes l found that allows me on my feet. The fact that getting the right shoes allows you to walk 4 miles is already very good. As soon as l got on my feet l had too much pain, my treatments are gradually healing me and l can be on my feet for longer and longer every month.

Please tell me about your treatment. I am able to be on my feet for very short, and getting shorter, periods of time.

I use the spectraPEMF every day. Lay on it full body 1 hour a day. Use the accompanying loop exclusively on my feet for 1-2 hours a day. http://www.spectrapemf.com

I use the LZR Ultrabright 10W. Must be held 2-3 inches away from the surface of the feet. It's strong and expensive but it saves a lot of time. It's a 1 minute treatment. I do the top of my feet, both sides of my feet, the bottom of my feet (2.5-3in away) careful not to get too close on the bottom side. Then l pull my toes back and specifically also get the bend of my toes. Then l flex the top of my toes down and directly get the space between my toe joints. I do that for each foot individually. Then l put my ankles together and do my ankles at the same time on the top side. Then l put it on the back side of my ankle to do my Achilles. Then l also do my arches together pressing the bottom of my feet against each other. All this takes about 18 min. This device is to be used every other day.

I got a radial ShockWave machine from Amazon. I set it at the lowest setting it offers 0.5 for energy. 7 hz for frequency. I never exceed 1.0 for energy. For bony areas only do 0.5. 1.0 for the fleshy part of the feet. Avoid skin on bone areas. Do the more fleshy areas next to it. Only do this once every 7-10 days. As you heal it'll get less and less painful over time.

It took me a long time to figure out how to maximize the healing effect on me.

Also, must wear shoes with arch support and a soft insert. It equally distributes your weight on your feet so the nerves can heal.

For me the softest insert l can find with arch support when l went to the shoe store is
ASICS GEL-Pulse 16 Running Shoes. Their other styles either don't have arch support or the insert is less soft. The sole also curves up in the front so when l walk it rolls forward bit. This feature allows me to bend my toes less to push off like when the sole is more flat in the front.

I never skip a day with the PEMF. The healing is very gradual. I've been using these 3 devices for 13 months and finally can be on my feet long enough to feel more normal. I think all 3 is necessary. They all help my nerve injury in different ways. PEMF maximizes healing potential and increase oxygenation in the area. Red light coax new nerve endings to grow back to replace the injured ones. The shockwave draws stem cells to the area. I take 1 ibuprofen a day to help decrease inflammation regularly. Inflammation keeps nerves from healing. PEMF and red light also decreases inflammation. Don't take ibuprofen on the day you do the ShockWave.

Wear arch support all the time.
