I’m surprised your Endocrinologist didn’t help you with what to do! I suffer from Long Covid, Hashimoto’s and Hypothyroidism. Initially, I didn’t know what was causing me to feel unbalanced, fatigued, inflamed throughout my body, loss of taste and smell, stuttering, anger, headaches, brain fog. These are some symptoms I’ve had throughout this ordeal which began with the Covid Vaccine, I believe. I detected a metal taste in the back of my throat immediately after having my first covid vaccine. I then caught Covid about 8 months later and on day 2 of the virus, I lost my taste and smell and that was in December of 2022 and it’s now May of 2026 and I still don’t have my taste or smell back. I was then diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, along with Hypothyroidism as I was gaining weight by the day and was following a weight loss program. I knew something was wrong! I finally was coaxed by my daughter to have my Thyroid Labs run, which I did. I found out that I not only have Hashimoto’s, but also Hypothyroidism. I never had any of these labs run before I had Covid, never! There is not a medication to control Hashimoto’s, but you can control it by diet. I have eliminated eating gluten, dairy, soy and seed oils as they are highly inflammatory foods. I also take Synthroid 75 mcg to control my Hypothyroidism. Once you loose those hormones that your thyroid produces, you become either hypo or hyperthyroid and you need medication to replace those hormones. If you decide to have your Thyroid Labs checked in addition, ask to have your TSH, T3-free, T4-free, Reverse T-3 and TPO Antibodies run. You’ll know after this test if you have a thyroid condition as well. I wish you luck on your health journey!

Hi, I also have Hashimoto's with hypothyroidism. My current symptoms are: profound fatigue, muscle aches, skin tingling and burning, episodes of dizziness and feeling off-balance, blurry vision that can be getting better and worse, sensitive GI.

Does this sound like your symptoms? Is Synthroid helping you?
