10 years cancer free today!

Last Dec. I had a right hemicolectomy for a cancerous polyp (stage 1) in my caecum. I did not have to have chemo or radiation.
No symptoms other than chronic constipation, bloating and gas. I routinely had my colonoscopies every three years (non cancerous polyps found) as my mother had a history of colon cancer, found in her 80's. I started my routine colonoscopies in my 50's.
I will now be having routine colonoscopies every year as well as the CEA testing.
I as well am so thankful it was caught early and did not have to have further treatments.
I encourage friends and family as well to do routine colonoscopies, esp. if there is a family history.

@leanne004 Colonoscopy is the only screening test that can actually prevent the disease it is screening for. So happy yours was found early, too.
