@patricemoshrin. Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m so glad you found this site and have asked a question! Are you a caregiver in the home where this lady lives? When did this toileting become a problem? With the elderly, there is always a question of bladder infection. The behavior may change or they get a fever or anything different. You could start by asking her if there is any discomfort when she toilets. Does she go to the bathroom by herself? She may need a one to one assistance so she can re-learn how she can do it properly.
Here is some good information: I found another page of tips and information, but it wouldn’t let me copy for you. https://www.alzheimersblog.org/2016/09/06/toileting-tips-tricks/
This is also good information!

If you put into the search box, ‘toileting someone with dementia”, the computer will come up with a great list of tips.
And I’m sure some members on the site will have some great information!
