I am a 67 year old who was just diagnosed with a 4.0. I get all of my specialty care at Mayo. I learned there are Cardiologists who specialize in a noninvasive method to stent the aneurysm. I'm an RN and I know they don't do any major surgeries below 5, but I live in Michigan and I don't want to wait. Major surgeries are emergency and involve a cardiac bypass. I will let you know if I find a good surgeon if you are interested. Let me know please visa versa. Good Luck! Sue

They do surgery under 5cm in special circumstances. I had a Bentall procedure at Mayo Jacksonvilee during an emergent situation. My aortic root was 4.8 and mid ascending aorta 4.7 at the time. I am being monitored for a 4.6 on the native distal area of the ascending aorta at present.
