Reduced low back pain
I have been on Evenity for 5 months now. I do have migraine headaches/ neck pain but my low back pain has improved. Anyone else having a reduction in pain anywhere? Not sure if maybe it’s a placebo effect or the migraine and neck pain is masking the low back pain.

I am sorry you have headaches and neck pain (all from the drug Evenity?) I am learning quite a lot since joining this group. My endocrinologist has suggested Tymlos, Forteo or Evenity.
So far, I just cannot bring myself to agree! The side effects I have read about are far too awful to give in without at least trying to improve my numbers with diet, exercise and supplements.
I have not had a broken bone that I am aware of, except for losing an inch of height. My dexa scan has really low T-scores, the worst is my left hip at -4.10
I have osteoarthritis in both hips and will need hip replacement surgery, but I want to be sure the surgeon I choose is ready to deal with such low bone density, or what they suggest (I have a consultation in July) In the meantime, I keep reading everyone's posts and try to stay positive!

2 Reactions@magicwoo Hi, I have been on Tymlos for 18 months with minimal side effects. I am not sure if it is the Tymlos but I seem to get tired a bit more easily and I’m a little fuller around the belly. But I just had my first dexa scan since starting Tymlos. My left hip went from -3.2 to 2.8 and my right hip from -2.8 to -2.0. I am pretty happy with these results and will continue on Tymlos through 24 months. Btw, I started low and titrated up on Tymlos but stopped at 7 clicks.

4 ReactionsEvenity do report improvements in certain types of bone or back pain over time, particularly if some of the discomfort was related to osteoporosis-related weakness, microfractures, spinal compression changes, or instability, so it’s definitely possible that your reduced low back pain is real and not just placebo, especially after 5 months of treatment when the medication has had time to improve bone formation and density, although it can sometimes be hard to separate true improvement from shifts in pain perception like your migraines and neck pain drawing more attention because chronic pain conditions often overlap and fluctuate, but overall it’s not unusual for some people to notice better spinal comfort or less aching while on Evenity even though headaches, joint pain, or muscle pain are also recognised side effects for others.
