I have dealt with Hashimoto’s for years, started in my 40’s and I’m now 75. I have a functional medicine doctor and she has prescribed more of a natural med - NP thyroid. I also worked with her nutritionist and I eat 5 Brazilian nuts daily due to this nut’s nutrient of selenium. I use stevia in my coffee and also keep any high sugar products to a minimum. Everyone’s body is different. So you have to find what works for you to keep your thyroid levels of T3, T4, etc in the normal ranges.
