What to do when pulmonologist is passive?

See someone else. Your condition has all the earmarks of NTM. To underscore an earlier comment, the condition is not well known by many doctors, and even specialists are learning as they go. For example, my Infectious Disease doctor does not have that many folks with NTM. This person is not a pulmonologist, and the pulmonologist is not a specialist in disease. I was naive about how these doctors' understanding differs and does not fully overlap. The function and structure of the lungs is one thing, disease another. You need a pulmonologist and an infectious disease doctor.

@mokie I’m so thankful for your response. I didn’t want to “over react “. Thanks to a comment above, I’m going to contact the chapel hill clinic. They allow you to refer yourself. Hopefully I can get in sooner than later. All of your comments, and the other boards I’ve read have been so helpful and I am just so thankful.
