floxed in 2013. not warned by the prescribing doctor, of course. i had a sinus infection.
after taking the drug, i experienced excruciating pain. dissociation. felt like i was being tortured.
called the doctor's nurse, she told me they saw this all of the time, and to take ibuprofen.
an uphill and exhausting battle. all of this, from a drug that was overprescribed for a sinus infection.
13 years later, i've lost my health, my career in architecture, and am at wit's end.
i just had a biopsy for small fiber neuropathy last week.
the medical establishment and the legal establishment have been gaslighting me the entire time. this drug is widely used and very profitable for big pharma. the generic drug manufacturers rigged the system.
i am a shell of my former self.
@needfl0xhelp hello. I’m sorry to ask questions, but you are the only person I’ve found after researching for this with the same problem. When I got prescribed this I was terrified and did not want to take this, but as I had an infection for coral I felt like this was the only thing I could take as the previous antibiotic didn’t take it away. I asked my doctor about the side effects with tendons, and he said it was such a low percentage of happening that I shouldn’t even worry about it. When I called back on day 4 before I went to the er, I had called his office that morning to ask about the side effects I was having and he said it wasn’t from the medication, and that it was from the infection and to continue taking it. (I now know it was obviously from the medication) I took it thinking it was the only thing left to take, and the downward spiral started from there. I’ve been given Naproxen, and now cyclobenzaprine. I feel that’s only a pain management and not a fix for whatever actual effect this medication has caused. I’m not a doctor but I can only assume it’s cause nerve problems for me. But both doctors I’ve seen haven’t brought up anything about my nerves. I’ve tried to be normal again, and go out to lunch, or even drive but then by nighttime I’m in so much pain and feel horrible. I can’t stand in the shower still, or even stand or walk long enough to make myself food, or go get myself water. Some days I can and some days I can’t all over again. All of this experience has been so humbling even though I’ve tried to stay positive about it.
I was wondering what effects have stayed for you? If you still have a hard time walking, or if your legs still feel weird and heavy, or if it’s just pain that’s stayed for you. Also what type of doctor you’ve seen for this issue that knows about this? Because all I’ve been getting is pain management and this has terrified me that nobody believes this medication can do this, or almost doesn’t believe me, or is willing to talk about this. Nobody has looked at my muscles or even brought up nerves like I’ve seen from looking online, but I’m not a doctor but I don’t know what to think or do lol.
Thank you for finding this and taking the time to reply to my comment.
