I have been using clobetasol since 08/2025 with no problem. I use it every other day and Estrogen Cream on the alternative days. About 3 weeks ago a began having all over body itching, especially the day after using the Clobetasol. I started having tingling in my tongue and lips and roof of the mouth. My GYN said impossible that the clobetasol was the culprit. Granddaughters that are both nurses/ and Nurse Practitioner insisted that I cease using the clobetasol. My PC Doc had me take Prednisone 20 mg for 5 days and also Pepcid/Allegra 2xdaily for 2 weeks. No itching whatsoever. Upon completion of the Pepcid/Allegra duo the itching came back with a vengeance all facial related roof of mouth, tongue and lips. PC Doc ordered a Steroid dose pack because sometimes if the steroid is taken long enough the allergic reaction comes back. Has anyone else had a delayed allergic reaction to Clobetasol. Going to see a Dermatologist tomorrow that specializes in autoimmune issues.

@jenicehodges2026 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m glad you found this site and hope that you will be able to get and give some good advice from your own experience. It’s wonderful that you. Are also going to see a dermatologist with autoimmune experience! If you get some good advice, maybe you can pass it along. And, again, Welcome!

@jenicehodges2026 I was told not to use for more than 10 days at a time. Use sparingly
