@dolphina3 hi before you had your mastectomy did you have a contrast injected into your breast? I am scheduled for right breast mastectomy soon and Dr mentioned have an injection of contrast a few hours before

Hi,
Yes they put contrast and another type before surgery. It helps to find any cancer in lymph nodes.
My lymph nodes were clear.
They should give you a type of nerve block before you leave surgery, for pain. I didnot have much pain.
I wish you a speedy recovery and a good lymph node report.
