It certainly is frustrating and yes, it is a diagnosis given when nothing else can be found. I've been living with this for 30 years (I'm 65 now) I started out taking the meds they give us only to have horrible side effects, weight gain (90 lbs) high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes (yes, the meds all caused that) so I made my own changes. I started walking every morning increasing a few blocks when I felt able, I'm up to t miles now . I also stopped eating processed food, meat, sweet's, sugary drinks, white flour, dairy (I don't think meat necessary was a problem, I just stopped) I lost all the weight, which definitely helped my pain . I'm no longer diabetic, no more high blood pressure, or high cholesterol. I still struggle but I just feel better over all, less fatigue for sure (I still have high fatigue days from time to time though) .I figured I had to take control because nobody is interested in this condition nor do they care , mostly because they don't understand it. I forgot to mention that the walking and healthier eating, breathing excersise all truly help the anxiety and depression that tends to take over our lives . None of this is a cure all however, every little bit helps. I talk about it only in groups like this, otherwise I say nothing to anyone and don't ever complain as I feel it only opens the door for criticism.
@19281928 I was frustrated when some friends thought my fibromyalgia pain was "all in my head" or because I was "reading too many symptoms on the internet". The pain I had from fibromyalgia was unlike any other pain I'd experienced, truly debilitating.
Anyway, I discovered LDN low-dose naltrexone, which helped me tremendously.
