I picked up C.difficult infection from an inpatient stay in a well refuted hospital here in IL and was put on A course of Vancomycin for 14 days. If the diarrhea had not stopped by then, I would have to continue anther course of Vancouver all over again.

Luckily, I was isolated and my stools were well formed to declare that I am infection free!!:-)

Thank God for it.
Hope this info helps you.

So happy for you! I fought c diff for 9 months!!! I was on do many antibiotics my gut was (and still is) just a mess. I finally did a course of Voust. I have been diarrhea free for over 2 months and I am thrilled!

@vijay26: I'm glad to hear you're doing well! I can understand your concerns about picking up C Diff but it's a very virulent bacteria. It's extremely difficult to eradicate because its spores are resistant to common alcohol-based hand sanitizers and many cleaning agents.

I had been less fortunate as I did not respond to either Vanco nor fidaxomicin. I was ultimately hospitalized where it was determined I had CMV colitis requiring a lengthy course of antifungals via PICC line and subsequently determined I also had ICI (Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Colitis) as a result of the immunotherapy I'd been on for my metastatic melanoma. It was a LONG fall and winter but I'm thankfully emerging into spring feeling stronger and better with the help of Entyvio infusions getting my gut back into the healthy state it had been!
