THR / metalossis/ hamstring tear
Hi, I have 17 yr THR on right, cobalt/ chromium 9/ 5 respectively but been told my pain dictates revisions
Do labs, thyroid etc regularly, echo, retinal checks, am 77 so fatigue part of aging too
Recently saw PA as top of posterior right hip uncomfortable to sit etc but walk 2 1/2 -3 miles day 6x week , mild discomfort after
Had MRI and showed 18mm grade 2 hamstring tear at ischial tuberosity near sit bone so know where pain coming from
Question, IF I need surgery for hamstring will it affect doing revision of hip? Can I heal hamstring with PT ?
I actually only felt pain when I turned over in bed, pretty severe but subsided, next morning back to walking okay
I am a caregiver to disabled adult daughter and husband has cancer so surgery for either is almost out of question but now that I know about hamstring, I'm scared to overdue walking etc but need exercise, don't like machines but will use if it won't damage hamstring more, I'm pretty close to grade 3 which is a complete tear off pelvic bone so darn scary!!

@minajo The question of managing both the hamstring tear and revision on the hip is best answered by your orthopedic surgeon.
As for the hamstring injury, a grade 2 tear, or partial tear, is generally treated with RICE (rest, ice, compression & elevation) followed by physical therapy.
