Hi,
I do understand it can get stressed and frustrated. With our condition, it’s inevitable we will feel this way now and then.
When I was first diagnosed with this condition, no one knew what to expect including me. I was going to start popping pills like candies no doubt, and with side effects. I would become different, a new yet same Louis.
I realized if I were to get stressed and frustrated, others around would become the same because they did not know how to handle. It became a vicious cycle.
Then, I told myself no matter what I would still treat others the same way I did before. Crack few silly jokes. Grin. Smile. Put them at ease. When they become relaxed, I would become more so as well. Nowadays, I will talk less and use my face to do most of the talking. Raising of eyebrows. Nodding of head. The opposite party will do more of the talking and I simply listen more of that. No need to be stressed or frustrated. You can still be the same old you inside, only expressing it in a different manner. Don’t be disheartened. I told myself no way am I going to let those side effects totally take over my life. Physically sure no doubt, but mentally no.
Hope I make sense.
Cheers,
Louis
