Shocked by aging process
My fingernails and toenails stopped growing and just keep breaking off. My hair is falling out. My memory is not as sharp and sometimes I feel a little woozy. I hate this. I want my body and my senses back.

I can identify with how your skin just hangs there because I've always exercised and now, at 81, my arms look terrible to me. Reminds me of my grandmother when she was in her 80s. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for good health and the ability to exercise regularly and enjoy it.

9 ReactionsSpeaking of skin hanging. This is funny - sort of.
I own a convertible and I always rest my left arm on the upper corner of the windshield, when I have the top down.
Well, this year the back of my upper arm began to "flap" in the wind. And I too have stayed in shape, lifted weights, etc.
LOLOLOLOL. I see old guys on motorcycles, they have the same issue....LOL
Isn't life grand?

1 ReactionWhat saddens me the most about not living more than the next 30 years (am 70) is that planting trees feels like an effort in futility?
But then I think again and plant them anyway...maybe I will be able to watch from heaven and see them grown and people enjoying them?

4 Reactions@clj9821 ~ love your positivity! I turn 85 in September with the aches and pains that seem inevitable. Left hip replaced in 2004, right hip in 2008. I stretch, walk, dance occasionally and participate in monthly book club. I have a poetry blog, enjoy music and PEOPLE. Celebrated #84 in Las Vegas at Sphere with Dorothy and the Wizard! Cheers to the next decade.

11 Reactions@slarson14 I’m about to me 84 and I love trees. I grateful to be able to be actively removing invasive species and planting native plants in my community and yard and being a steward of a beautiful forested nature trail. Helping Nature wherever you are is a way to honor our trees.

I think this is an accurate quote:
A wise man/woman plants trees, knowing she/he will not live to sit under them.

Me too. At 78 I plant 95 percent native plants. It is something that I can do to help the earth and my fellow creatures.
