Yes. I have been on it for years. 800mg 3 times a day.
Now down to 600mg 3 times a day. For RSD Type II/CRPS
Just fyi, I can't take lyrica. It put me in a 10 day BP coma when they weaned me off it, after having side effects.
@sapphiregirl Is this for sciatica pain?
My mother, brother, and myself suffered with sciatica pain and all 3 of us were/are on 600mg with the pain completely gone with little and manageable side effects!
(My mother passed in 2019)
Now I do know a friend who went on gabapentin and her feet started spasming and she had to ween down and stop taking, but she’s the only one I know personally that had that kind of side effect.
Yes! Years Ago I Was On Gapapentin. I Was Up To 5-6 Pills A Day. It Was Then That I Realized That This Medication Was Not A Cure But A Bandaid!!
I Researched The Side Effects And Stopped Taking This!!!!
I Began To Look At Holistic Alternatives. And I Found One That Works For Me WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!!!
I Would Say The Name Of It, But As This Is My First Time Making A Comment. I DO NOT WANT TO BE RIDICULED OR PUT DOWN!!!! Do Some Research And You Will Find Natural Alternatives WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!!!!!

This is a lengthy, thorough article on gabapentin and everything you want to know about it. I found it when looking for information about the drug and the side effects that caused me to get off of it.
@judyingenes what are you taking in place of gabapentin. I don't think I could function without it. I take it for multiple reasons. I have interstitial cystitis which is bladder pain and also neuropathy of feet. I had concerns when I started but now I really don't think I could function in any way without it.

5 ReactionsI currently take 600 mg. per day and have completely gotten rid of my debilitating IC pain in addition to getting help with my neuropathy in my feet. Before taking them I tried everything available for my bladder pain. I would be in bed with my heating pad moaning and groaning. It was a horrible way to have to live. I tried bladder installments given by my doctor twice a week but relief would only last a day or two. Listen I firmly believe that anyone suffering with chronic pain should find help that works for them. I don't think it is helpful and would never shame people for their choices. Is Lyrica addictive. It absolutely is. That said, we all have finite time left on this planet and we are all adults who can make decisions that work for us. Do not shame others who choose to take this drug. As they say, pick your poison.

1 Reaction@mrmacabre does it help dull the pain
@blowerk1216 To a point yes, but the pain is ALWAYS there. I started on a smaller dosage several years ago, and as my neuropathy got worse the dosage went up. As far as I know there isn't any other medication that I could take when/if this dosage doesn't work any more. I'm basically screwed.
