Hair and nail growth on Tymlos

Posted by eileenvan @eileenvan, Nov 16, 2025

Has anyone noticed more hair growth (even on my toes) and my nails are growing also while taking Tymlos? My skin is dryer too.
When I stopped it for a month due to palpitations my hair was falling out. 😳

Definitely noticed my nails growing (and stronger than ever) with Tymlos. A pleasant side effect!! No hair growth.

Why were you taking Tymlos? For which disease?

I went for a haircut today after taking Tymlos for 2 months and my haircutter asked "Did you start taking vitamins? Your hair has gotten really thick."

What is Tymlos for? I'm losing so much hair and need something to prevent more hair loss and hopefully to
grow more hair.

@2024tymloshelp
I thought you were supposed to get Bone Turnover Markers tests (CTX & P1NP) at 1-3 months or at least 3-6 months to determine if Tymlos is working. Also I read that Tymlos often loses its effect at around 12 months and then it's time to stop taking it. Can anyone confirm this. I'm hoping to start this treatment as soon as I can get an appointment with an endocrinologist.

So you have a full picture: People on this thread report thicker hair/hair growth with Tymlos-- my hair fell out--not all of it, and not in clumps, but it thinned out all over and has not grown back two years later. Just so you know it can go either way. The Tymlos nurse confirmed she had seen many cases like this even though it is not reported as an official side effect. I quit Tymlos after 6 months. I couldn't take that side effect and all the others. Good luck.
