Hi Maureen!
It's nice to hear from you again, though I'm truly sorry to learn about your recent experience.
You mentioned that you were aware throughout the episode — that detail stood out to me. I'm wondering whether this could possibly be a PNES episode — Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures.
I'm sharing a discussion from our group that you might find helpful:
Have nonepileptic seizures/psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES)?

Please do bring this up with your doctor — it's worth exploring. And do keep in touch!
Chris

Hi Chris,

I had brought up the possibility of PNES before but he’s absolutely certain my condition is epilepsy.

I guessed the laceration in my brain, reflected via MRI, gave him that confidence in his diagnosis. @minajo Maureen, had you performed a MRI? I believe you had done blood, urine & CT.

Cheers,
Louis
