I am going to assume you are an adult and the surgery is to replace a damaged esophagus. Will they take part or all of the colon?

I should have included more information. I'm a 70m. I had esophageal cancer were they removed all of my esophagus and part of my stomach. They are going to take part of my lower colon. The part that does most of the water absorption. I will be required to eat 6-8 small meals a day.

I'm just concerned the surgery will no increase my quality of life
