@gen55 I am also in my 70s, 75 tobe exact, and was prescribed Fosamax this February. But as I read up on it, I became terrified at the thought of taking this med and opted for weight training, increased calcium and vitamins. Like you, at this point in my life, I don't know if the drug is worth it.

@pattwc exactly! I've been researching foods good for osteoporosis and other things such as supplements. I read that with fosamax, you need to get off the med after 2 years and have a break from it before starting it again. How can that be something good to use? I don't understand these meds at all. Seems lots of them just end up creating other problems which then needs another med to take. It's very frustrating!
