Oh OK, I am taking Algaecal Plus, but I don't see any strontium in it. There is boron though, so that must be natural occurring. I have a strontium supplement but I no longer take it because I feel like I just take too many pills overall. Is there a problem with taking strontium? I think I read it can give a false scan result but don't quote me on that.

@shellinaya I called the company that makes AlgaeCal and asked about it's strontium content because I take a different algae sourced calcium pill (New Chapter) and it's ingredients list shows trace amounts of strontium. Strontium is in all sea food so I knew AlgaeCal must have some too. The company verified their pills do contain trace amounts but since the amount can vary depending on the batch of algae used, they don't list it on their label. Strontium is a natural element in the earth and is in lots of foods we eat, at trace amounts.

The problem with taking large amounts of strontium is that it's heavier than calcium so it can falsely make BMD look better on DEXA. See this article. https://www.womenshealthnetwork.com/bone-health/the-problem-with-high-dose-strontium/
