Who saw Dr. Ram Pathak at Mayo Jacksonville for Tulsa Pro?

Posted by WingNut @ucfron, Oct 29, 2025

Discussed both removal and Tulsa Pro with Dr Ram Pathak at Mayo Jacksonville for my localized Gleason 3+4=7 cancer, PSA 4.5. Have been on AS for about 10 months but I think I am ready to move forward. My Prostox test results eliminated SBRT (95% chance of urinary toxicity) from my options, so I am now considering either removal or Tulsa Pro. I've told Dr Pathak I think I want to do Tulsa Pro because I feel is may have less of an impact on my quality of life (ED and Incontinence). I hope this isn't a mistake. Has anyone else had Tulsa Pro with Dr Ram Pathak an if so please tell me about it.

Thanks,

I did not. I had never heard of it until after my treatment.

@jcf58 Did you have a Decipher score, by any chance? If so, what was it?

@colleenyoung @airborn I did Hemi gland Tulsa Pro with Dr Dora and Dr Pathak at Mayo Jacksonville on Dec 10, 2025. One week with a catheter was hell, but two days afterwards I was sleeping all night and urinating strong them before the precedure. Started having morning errections 3 weeks after and had sex shortly there after. I don’t take any meds related to sex or urinary functions. Had my 3 month post op tests and my 4.5 PSA dropped to 0.51. I feel great now and not one issue. Another positive was my BCBS paid 100% since I had met my deductible and max out of pocket. Several things setup well for me to do Tulsa. Confined to front left side of prostate, one core of biopsy out of 13, 3+4=7 with only 10% 4 and tumor was on the interior zone near my ureathra. If your situation is right for Tulsa then do it. Pathak and Mayo are great. Let me know how things work out for you.
